Bring another part of me to the work…

“Extraordinary things begin to happen when we dare to bring all of who we are to work….”

In the -Reinventing Organization-, Frederic Laloux says thatthe organization have always been places that encourage people to show up with a narrow “professional” self and to leave other parts of the self at the door.

They often require us to show a masculine resolve, to display determination and strength, and to hide doubts and vulnerability. Rationality rules as king, while the emotional, intuitive, and spiritual parts of ourselves often feel unwelcome, out of place. “

The first time I saw a Italian peer trainer kissed her 13 months son, said good-by, and gave him to the nursing lady, just before stepping into the seminar room, I was deeply shocked. Many questions came to my mind: is it professional? How she can do that? What the trainees will perceive her?

The fact is: she is professional, she delivered a very inspiring training, all 70 participants are delighted. At the end of the day, when I saw her stepped out of the room, immediately playing with her baby, who was waiting for her at the door, I changed mind, I said to myself: why not!

An  handicap man once at his wheelchairs said to me, “the highest barrier  is inside of our mind”. It’s terribly true. We limit ourselves with some preconceived “rules”, it seems that the world is made with a choice of “OR”: professional or personal. But in reality, the world is made with AND, we can have both, we are not obliged to leave some parts of us out of the work place.

“Extraordinary things begin to happen when we dare to bring all of who we are to work. Every time we leave a part of us behind, we cut ourselves off from part of our potential, of our creativity and energy. No wonder many workplaces feel somehow lifeless. In wholeness we are life-full.” –Reinventing organization

…….Recently I have launched my new website  Why best myself? I am convinced that a liberating company provides a workplace where each is allowed to bring out the best self. I desire to contribute to discover, to inspire this best self for me and for the people dear to me. Regularly I will write a post of my life insight, to share with you. Welcome to sign up to get the sharing letter by email, in this way, we will warm up each other, inspire each other on this less-frequent road together……
